It leaves them alone for the most part. They are ignored when syncing but will also not be overwritten during a normal sync so the list should remain through the sync process. After you perform a sync, try adding a couple of distribution lists in Outlook and see what happens.

I have a copy of Outlook Sync. Hardly every use it since I do not have a need for Outlook. However, I did install this new beta and it worked great. No problems at all.
