Task Not Syncing

Postby GaryG » Tue Jul 13, 2010 10:18 pm

Greetings,

I have Intellect 3.0.4.2, and Outlook 2007. I am able to sync my calander, contacts and notes. Other than the first time when I transfered everything into Outlook, I can't seem to get changes in Task to go in either direction now. I reset the mapping to the default--still no luck. I could not figure out how to remap other than Subject=Description. I also ran the repair utility on Outlook--still nothing. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hello Gary,

Welcome to the forum.

What Windows version are you using ? Also, what version of ChaosSync for Outlook ? The default mapping for tasks is fine (I have never touched mine).

Before doing anything, make sure you have backed up your !ntellect and/or Outlook. Syncs, when they go wrong, can destroy or duplicate lots of data quickly. Furthermore, some of the suggested testing below will overwrite data and you will have to restore from backup.

Likely cause of your problem is the sync flag for tasks is not working. Suggest trying the following:
    1. Try Chaos overwrites Outlook (and set the others to do nothing)
    2. Try Outlook overwrites Chaos
    3. Write down your mappings first. Uninstall and re-install ChaosSync, re-do your mappings if required.
    4. Uninstall Outlook and re-install

CS,

Thanks for your welcome and your suggestions. First off, I am using Windows 7 as my operating system. I am also using ChaosSync for Outlook version 2.0.0.3. I tried the overwrite from Intellect to Outlook that you suggested. I noticed that task items that had a due date were transferring both directions, but if I did not put a due date in, it would show up only in Outlook. It then occured to me to see if these undated tasks where anywhere in Intellect. I went to Reports: Tasks, and generated a complete list of all my tasks in Intellect. In reviewing this list I began finding the undated items, thought now they were all dated 1/1/4501. It appears that as long as I am indicating a due date for items in Outlook, Intellect is happy, resulting in no future dated tasks. If anything changes I will let everyone know.
