Phone Labels

Postby bwlpf » Mon Mar 22, 2010 8:31 am

I know this came up before; quite a while ago. I couldn't find that thread again.

Where do I find the *.ini file used to alter the label names in the Phone fields?

Thanks.....BW

Program files/chaos Software/Intellect (or time and chaos I guess)/services.ini

In other words, the services.ini file in the program folder.

Adding that filepath link to the "Phone" is proving to be one of the greatest assets of Chaos. It's really helping me improve the organization of many years worth of client files and documents.

I had a thought, somewhat related. Is it possible to create a link(s) in that panel which would allow you to jump directly to another Contact?

Yes, that option is available within the opened Contact card, on the "Contacts" tab. But it takes several clicks to get there. And even that is less than functional. Because you click on that linked Contact, and it opens his card, yet you can't do basics from there. Things like r-click & copy of mailing address, or "mailto" to send a message.

Sometimes there is just one individual related to a contact, and it would be handy to be able to click & jump directly to his/her listing. I'm thinking, for example, within the membership databases I maintain, there are many parents with adult children listed separately. Or in my business data, co-workers at the same company.

Just a thought (one that should be posted in Enhancement ideas)
