Ground Rules for this board
1. Volunteers run this board. Chaosfanatics is owned and run by volunteers who also act as administrators and/or moderators. There are also some very active members who help out as well. The management team is here to make sure the board runs smoothly, that the posts are germane to the topic and no one gets out of line. While we’re on nearly every day, we cannot respond to all posts.
2. Chaos Software does not own or control this board. The staff at Chaos Software are members of the board and when their time permits give insight to the capabilities of the software and in some cases answer questions.
3. Not all questions will get answered. Simply, sometimes no one knows the answer. That a question goes unanswered does not mean it was ignored. Also, as noted above, the management team can’t respond to everything and frequently a member has a better answer than we do.
4. Links to Betas are at risk of the user. Beta software is, by definition, software that has been written and appears to run as intended by the author. However, it is humanly impossible to write a ‘perfect’ program or test every way in which another human will try to use the software. It is technically impossible for a software developer to duplicate all the millions of different operating environments in which it will run. Therefore in order to make sure the software will run without problems for as many people and on as many machines as possible, the developers have asked that we help them ‘test drive’ versions that are not yet released to the public. Occasionally the betas create problems and before installing a beta the user should back up all critical data. No one in the world (especially us) is responsible, liable, or guilty if a beta causes a catastrophic problem. YOU USE BETA SOFTWARE AT YOUR OWN RISK!
