Ha! We'll get there yet, eh Gavin?

Hi Dave,

Give me a 'L', give me an 'I', give me a 'N', give me a 'U', give me a 'X' and what have you got?

Still no Linux version that's what.

Now that is purple. I am using yellow for the background area and it works well. Really easy on the eyes.

Not too exciting but what can you do with a 2-color scheme?

My very own purple screen. Glad David told me it was purple, I thought it was Pink, I'm like whaaat? :?:
Y'all have fun with it, I learned along time ago from working with OIT's that there is no such think as perfect. Well enough will do! That doesn't apply to you Michael, you must endeavor to perservere.
I was looking at the hex numbers for colors, can you not assign the hex number to a color? Or are you forced to deal with hex?
Iff hex then really people get a job, or maybe even a life

Problem with Theme Editor

Postby bspeight » Wed Sep 02, 2009 12:10 am

I am using the Theme Editor with the latest (31/08/2009) release of T&C 7.0.4.1. I am running in a new 64-bit Windows 7 environment.

When I create a new theme and save it, it is not written back to the Chaos 7 folder in my Program Files (x86) folder, but instead it is written to:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Chaos Software\Chaos 7.

As a result, T&C does not find it, and the new theme is unavailable.

The obvious workaround, close T&C and copy the file from its VirtualStore location to the proper folder does work, and my themes are able to be accessed once T&C is restarted.

I did not have this problem when running in 32-bit Windows Vista.

More information:

Apparently, the VirtualStore folder was first introduced with Vista, to support programs which did not obey newly introduced Windows rules. One of these rules is that Windows applications should not write to the Program Files folders. When an application does this, Vista, and now Windows 7 steps in and relocates the offending file in the VirtualStore folder, and automatically looks after the attempts by the app to read from and write to the file in question.

In the case of Theme Editor, this process is not working properly. As a result, the original Theme.ini file, which is located in the Chaos 7 or Intellect folder (NOT the Theme Editor folder) is being used instead of the one in the VirtualStore folder. So, any changes are not being picked up.
